I was scanning the internet today when I read about a film director and photojournalist who were killed while covering a battle in Libya.
The film director, Tim Hetherington co-directed "Restrepo." This chilling documentary was a look at the war in Afghanistan through the military members who were directly involved.
The photographer Chris Hondros worked for Getty Images. He also documented wartime.
Just this year, 14 journalists have been killed and hundreds of others attacked.
It is amazing what these people do and sometimes sacrifice to provide news for everyone back home. These men reported deeper than most. They provided Americans a true look at the heart of war. The news only shows us so much about the war. Documentaries like "Restrepo" go deeper and show how it truly effects those involved.
